I stumbled upon Cotons while doing research on what type of dog to get our family. Everything I read about Cotons sounded like a dream dog. I was fortunate to find Linda who was extremely helpful during the process of purchasing Bella. Since I'd never seen a Coton nor knew anyone who had even heard of a Coton, Linda invited me out to visit her puppies. I was very impressed with how the adult dogs sat by us during my visit. Linda shared that is what Cotons do. They are very loyal to their owners and like to be by you. We decided to go ahead and get a puppy. I never dreamed that I'd spend the amount we did on a dog. I am allergic to anything with four legs. Horses, cats, dogs - it doesn't matter. Within minutes of contact or even proximity, my eyes start to itch and water and my nose congests. However, my long-suffering wife loves and has always wanted a dog, so in late 2012 I began to research allegedly hypo-allergenic dogs, and stumbled on the cotons. I went back to my allergist with a sample of saliva from the puppy we picked out at Linda's, While I again tested positive to virtually every other known allergen, there was a surprisingly mild reaction to the puppy's saliva. So, we made the purchase, and Bailey has turned out to be perfect in every way. He is enthusiastic, loving, smart. gentle and quiet. He is not just hypo-allergenic, but truly non-allergenic! My only regret is that I waited so long to make this discovery. And Linda has been a joy to work with. For years I wanted to add a sweet dog to our loving family but we were never able to find a puppy that was the right fit for us. Summer of 2012 I finally decided to research breeders online. "We have not had a dog for the last 17 years. We do have 3 cats. I searched for a while to find the perfect breed that would meet the requirements of our household - 1) not too big 2) not yippy like many of the smaller breeds, and 3) something that would get along well with our cats; even one that is extremely anxious. Linda patiently and calmly answered my questions and let us come out to visit the puppies on numerous occasions. During these puppy visits, we were able to observe the temperament of not only the puppies that were for sale, but the other older dogs as well. We've had comments from both the vet and groomer as to how well socialized our little Benson is. We'd really not had him out to socialize since he isn't through with all of his puppy vaccines yet. After losing our 16 year old Wheaton terrier , we began researching for a new puppy and decided a Coton was just the breed for us. I spoke with or emailed several breeders before finding Linda who I knew from the moment I started talking to her her was going to be the one. From the time we put a deposit down on a puppy until the time we picked her up, Linda kept us informed and updated with news and pictures. We felt like we were a part of everything. When we went to Linda's house to select our puppy at 3 weeks we were greeted by a house full of beautiful, happy Cotons. Amazingly, the house was clean and Linda so calm. After that visit, we had pictures of our Lily sent weekly until we were to bring her home. She is our love and the center of our home now. If we were to get another puppy, I would go to Linda again. Hi Linda! I hope you had a great time at the holidays. We certainly did. Just wanted to send you a quick note on how Bailey is. She is doing so great. She is so good. I can't believe how calm she is at her age. We take her everywhere with us if we can, she is a great traveler. We absolutely love, love having her in our family. My husband just adores her. Haha. It's hilarious. The only issue I had is I took her to a groomer who absolutely butchered her. They gave her a bad poodle cut, It is just beginning to look good now.
